Sikander Pervez - Visual Artist

Collapsing past, present, and future into one visual event, Sikander Pervez's art explores how this can redefine the transience associated with human life. Objects selected from the domestic realm are used as materials; objects that are used by and made in relation to the movements of the human body. Ensuring the objects remain recognisable, Pervez alters and dismantles their identity, developing their latent anthropomorphic elements. Pervez investigates the relationship of human consciousness and the physical material reality - constructing sculptures that use space in a way that it becomes part of the works, while they embed themselves within the space.
